HEALTH GUARANTEE
At Best Pedigree, we stand behind the genetic integrity of every Jack Russell Terrier we breed. Because our parent dogs undergo strict genetic testing and health clearances, we are proud to offer a comprehensive Health Guarantee to give you complete peace of mind.
The Initial 72-Hour Vet Check
Your puppy has been examined by our licensed veterinarian prior to leaving our home and is certified to be in excellent health. To activate this Health Guarantee, the buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival (excluding weekends and holidays).
If the veterinarian determines the puppy has a severe, life-threatening congenital defect, you must notify us immediately and provide a written statement from the examining vet. You may return the puppy for a full refund or a replacement puppy of equal value.
1-Year Genetic Guarantee
Best Pedigree guarantees your puppy against any severe, life-threatening congenital or genetic defects until they reach one (1) year of age. A severe defect is defined as one that will inevitably cause early death or severely diminish the dog's quality of life (e.g., severe heart murmurs, debilitating hip dysplasia).
In the event of a valid genetic claim, we will offer a replacement puppy of equal value from the next available litter. We do not require you to return your original puppy if you wish to keep and care for them.
What is NOT Covered
Because puppies are living creatures with developing immune systems, this guarantee does not cover common, treatable puppy ailments. These include, but are not limited to:
- Intestinal parasites (Coccidia, Giardia, worms) which are common due to the stress of moving to a new home.
- Upper respiratory infections (such as Kennel Cough).
- Minor physical flaws (umbilical hernias, underbites/overbites, undescended testicles).
- Conditions induced by environment, nutrition, or injury after leaving our care.
- Veterinary bills, travel expenses, or shipping costs.
Buyer's Responsibilities
This guarantee is entirely void if the puppy is not properly cared for. The buyer agrees to provide routine veterinary care, including but not limited to: completing the puppy vaccination series, administering monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and providing a high-quality diet.
Allowing the dog to become severely obese or malnourished, or failing to seek veterinary care when the dog is injured or ill, will immediately void this health guarantee.
The Claim Process
To file a claim under this guarantee, the buyer must provide us with a written diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian. We reserve the right to require a second opinion from an unassociated, licensed veterinarian of our choosing (at our expense) before any replacement or refund is issued.
